We are so excited you would like to take part in FCC’s Baby Dedication. Our next Baby Dedication Day is tentatively scheduled for May of 2012. It is important that each family understand our beliefs in order to participate in the Dedication Service.
We have three steps in the Baby Dedication Process:
Step One
We have 3 parenting messages that you will need to hear. They are online for your convenience. We feel these messages will help you as you raise your child. We want to be a resource for educating your little one on the love of Jesus. We ask that you listen to these messages together, talk about them and complete the questions. There is no time limit to completing this section. Baby Dedication is only open to children under 2 years.
- Message One: The parents are the spiritual leaders of their home. You are the first person your child will look to as a guide to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. [Listen Now]
- Message Two: The marriage is the most important relationship in your home. This relationship will strengthen your child’s emotional health and confidence. [Listen Now]
- Message Three: This message will help you to think about the future beliefs of your child. What kind of values will you have instilled in their lives? [Listen Now]
Step Two
We will provide a 30-minute orientation for you to attend. Orientation dates will be posted soon. Following the morning service please go to room 1100 for your orientation. Again we want to partner with you and your family. We want to take time to show you around the FCC Kidz Forest. We will also go over the questions from the messages, and provide the sign-up info for Dedication. Unless you are a single parent, we ask that both parents attend the orientation. Please contact Shanan Geitgey at sgeitgey@firstchristian.info or by calling 330-456-2600, ext. 2210 to let her know that you are planning on attending orientation.
Step Three
As a church family, we want to celebrate together. We want to create a memory for you of your promise to lead your child into a relationship with Jesus Christ. The dedication service is open to your friends and family. Your family will have pictures taken, as well. Our prayer is that this service would be your family’s commitment to trust God as your source of direction. We encourage you to surround yourself with friends and family who will help you to do this. It is so important to have people who will pray for you, give good advice, and lift you up through the tough times. This is not the end, just the beginning!
