For Adults with Developmental Disabilities
We believe all persons with disabilities have a right to participate in a faith community and feel valued as a community member. Here is more information about how our Day Program for adults with developmental disabilities works.
5 Programming Areas
Programming is available Monday thru Thursday to adults with developmental disabilities who have graduated high school and are eligible for county board services.
It is not a requirement that potential program participants be enrolled on a Medicaid “IO” [Individual Options] or Level 1 Waiver.
Each day is structured similar to a school schedule. Programming begins at 9am and sessions last approximately 45—50 minutes. A short break is included after each session so participants can transition to the next activity. Each day offers several of the 5 programming areas—so no one is sitting around waiting for something to do!
If you have questions about program eligibility, enrollment or if you would like to schedule a tour of the church campus, please contact Sara Yates, Program Manager. Contact info below.

Volunteers
Volunteers are an essential part of First Christian Day Services. Most sessions are facilitated by a church or community volunteer while staff members provide supervision and assistance. Volunteers offer their unique expertise with passion as they share what they love with the one you love!
Non-Medical Transportation
First Christian Church offers transportation to and from many Stark County work and day programming sites. Our drivers include First Christian Church staff members, retired school teachers and former professional drivers—all of whom have a heart to serve the DD population.
The current fleet of vehicles includes a 12-passengar van, a 15-passengar van and an accessible bus with a wheelchair lift. All rides are inspected daily.
