Creative Arts Mission Statement:
To give people of all ages different avenues of expressions of worship through many different forms of art, music, and dance and to provide a safe environment to learn and express them.
The God who made us was the originator of creativity. We were created to worship Him and because He is a God of such diverse yet steadfast glory, we can be diverse in our expression of praise. That is the goal of the Music and Worship Department of First Christian Church; to express adoration to our God through various avenues of expression. In doing so, community is formed, lives are changed, and The Father is pleased.
Please consider how you can be an active part of the magnification of our Father and the edification of the body.

Please note recent change in ages for each class. We made this change so the kids can be with the same age groups that they are with on Sunday mornings.
Rock & Praise and Cherub Choir
Rock & Praise: birth – 2 yrs old THIS CLASS IS FULL FOR THE FALL SESSION. For Childcare Reimbursement options for Renew U participants click here.
This is a Parent/Child class. We have music time, story time, crafts & play time. We utilize different instruments and have a wide variety of activities during this class. Maximum of 15 kids in this class.
Cherub Choir: 3 yrs old – Pre-Kindergarten
(No parent required for this class). The Cherub Choir will learn vocal pieces and utilize a wide range of instruments. We incorporate music, story, crafts, snack, & play time. Maximum of 15 kids in this class.
Beyond the Music
Kindergarten – 5th grade
Beyond the Music is our Creative Art program for Kindergarten – 5th graders and moves students beyond just the exposure aspect of art and music education. Participants receive a scriptural tie-in or character formation opportunity each week; we will be concentrating on the Beatitudes. They will also have some craft time, prayer and snack time, and multi-sensory worship time. Until we establish more volunteers there will be a maximum of 25 kids registered for this class. Youth Arts Program
Middle School and High School
Youth Arts ministers to and utilizes the gifts of Middle School and High School students. They explore many artistic avenues such as drumming, sign language, singing, drama and dance. This program offers a positive place for expression, character formation and encourages artistic development.
One new element this year for our Youth Arts Program: In the fall of 2010 the middle and high school students will have their own mid-week service being held at Edgewood Community Center. It will run from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm. Youth Arts will ONLY meet from 6:30 – 7:00 pm each week so the kids can attend their service. They will learn a new element of “art” each month that they will be able to use or perform in their own service on Wednesday nights!
Worship Leading Choir

Our choir helps lead worship at least once a month on various Sunday mornings. If you have any questions regarding the choir please email Kathy Wahl, Music & Worship Assistant.
KLI (Kids Livin’ It) Worship Team
3rd – 8th grade
KLI is an AUDITION ONLY group that was formed to help lead worship on Sunday mornings for our elementary age worship times. Under the guidance of leaders Karli Fassos and Jaimie Brown, KLI uses song, drama, dance and many other elements of worship to lead the worship times. Being involved in KLI is a one year commitment. If you are interested in auditioning for this group or to find out when auditions will be held again, please email Karli.

Sunday, August 22nd 12:45 – 2:30 pm in room 5 on the lower level
Tuesday, August 24th 4:00 – 6:00 pm in room 5 on the lower level (TIME CHANGE)

Sunday, August 29th we will be taking part in the Back to School/Back to Church/FCC Family Picnic/Campus Open House FEST
One service that morning at 10:15. Plan on being here after the service until 3:00 pm.
